80th Anniversary of Armistice Medal 1998
The Australian Prime Minister introduced the 80th Anniversary of Armistice Remembrance Medal to mark the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War One,during the year of 1998. The medal was issued only to the remaining Australian WW1 Veterans, and there were 71 recipients of this medal.

Manufacture :  The medal was manufactured of Cupro-nickel  The suspension bears the crown of King George V, The sovreign during WW1

The Obverse has a reproduction of a statue to the Australian digger that was unveiled at Bullecourt, France in 1998.  The edge bears the words '80th Anniversary Armistice Remembrance Medal' 

The Reverse has wreaths of wattle about the Federation Star, and the words 'Lest We Forget' 

The recipients name is engraved on the rim in keeping with the traditional military style.

The Ribbon is of red and black representative of the Flanders Poppy associated with the Western Front and which has since WW1 been the symbol of remembrance.
