Australian Service Medal 1945-75
1 Established :
The Australian Service Medal 1945-75 was established in 1995 to recognise the part played by Australian Servicemen who had not previously received an award for their service during the years 1945 to 1975 in non warlike activity or other peacekeeping operations.

2 Design :
The medal is of circular nickel silver with the Crown of St Edward on the suspension bar. The obverse of the medal features a modified shield of the Commonwealth Coat of Arms.  The reverse features the Commonwealth star overlaid with a plinth on which the recipients name in engraved surrounded by clusters of wattle blossom symbolising the Australian nature of the award, and the presence of Australian service personnel in overseas peacekeeping operations and non warlike operations.

There is also a nickel silver clasp that is affixed to the ribbon to indicate where the recipients activity took place

The ribbon colours are light and dark blue, Khaki, green, and gold, representing the Australian Defence Forces
