1. Background
The Defense logistics Agency Distinguished Career Servcice Medal isgranted to civilian employees on retirement in recognition of highlydistinguished service. The award consists of a medal, lapel pin and a plaque. The period of service covers both military and civilian service.
This award may not be used as a replacement for the retirment certificate that is granted in conjunction with the DLA Exceptional, Meritorious, or Superior Service Awards, the DLA Certificate of Achievement, or the Commendation Certificate.
2. Eligibility
To be eligible for this award the employee must have:-
- A record of sustained superior performance that has had some impact im the
effective accomplishment of mission objectives
- Received some recognition for superior perfomance or special achievement (Prior
receipt of a top level honorary recognition is not, however, a prerequisite for
eligibility.
